• Job Description
  Role Purpose
  The Site Projects Engineering Manager is part of the Site Projects Team for Oman. This role provides engineering leadership across a portfolio of brownfield projects, supporting Project Leads throughout all stages of project delivery. You will manage a team of engineers and external contractors to ensure high standards of quality, safety, and compliance with bp standards and applicable regional regulations.
  Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering scope to meet the objectives of Safe Design and Quality Build
• Lead a team of bp discipline engineers, including those based in bpTSI, and forecast demand while supervising daily activities
• Supervise the performance of engineering contractors and take corrective action as needed
• Ensure that the Project Delivery Common Process is applied, including appropriate self-verification and assurance activities
• Serve as focal point for Engineering Technical Practice (ETP) implementation and risk-based verification
• Evaluate and process requests for deviations or exemptions from standards in accordance with the Production ETP/STP Control procedure
• Assess and handle technical Management of Change (MoC) requests after design freeze and acquire necessary approvals
• Ensure that bp's requirements for Design Hazard Management, Process Safety, and Inherently Safer Design are integrated into facility designs
• Lead the preparation, review, and approval of engineering work and ensure partner feedback is addressed
• Facilitate engineering-for-value decisions by balancing business drivers and design alternatives
• Maintain clear and effective communication with internal and external participants regarding engineering issues and project progress
• Collect and apply lessons learned for continuous improvement in future projects
  Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• Proven experience delivering engineering in brownfield projects
• Experience managing third-party engineering contractors
• Proficiency in engineering verification and oversight activities
• Awareness of Cat C Common Process, PDCP (or equivalent project methodologies)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Professional Engineering or Chartered Engineer certification is an advantage
• Experience with tendering engineering contractor contracts is beneficial
