The Water Engineering department is hiring an engineering associate. This role offers excellent opportunities to learn and grow through hands-on project experience under the supervision of an incredible senior engineers and technical specialists. You will have the outstanding opportunity to be involved in the whole cycle of projects from planning/conceptual design to detailed design, construction, and operation. You will provide engineering and technical support to our water and hydroelectric operations with facilities along the Lower Colorado River. You will be trusted to:
- Perform engineering calculations and designs
- Visit project sites and document field observations
- Review existing reports/available data and develop a list of issues and build a summary
- Investigate technical issues and develop practical solutions
- Review project plans and specifications prepared by external consulting engineers hired by LCRA
You qualify with:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science.
- Driver's license
You are a great fit with:
- 4-year college degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis on structural or geotechnical engineering
- An FE or EIT certification
- Experience in levee and dam analysis/design/construction/inspection
