Head of Data Engineering Asset Management Location: Manchester Working: 3 days onsite (Tues-Thurs) Salary: £130k + extensive package (TC circa £200k)
The Role Leading multiple teams of Data, DataOps & MLOps Engineers within a global asset manager's European Data & Analytics function. You'll own the data engineering strategy, driving the build of AI-ready, cloud-native data platforms that power analytics, data science and business decision-making across the UK & Europe.
This is a senior leadership role with a focus on strategy, delivery and team development (no hands-on work expected).
Key Responsibilities
Lead, scale and develop multiple data engineering teams
Own and deliver largescale data platform and pipeline initiatives (ETL/ELT)
Define and implement data architecture aligned to AI and analytics strategy
Partner with senior stakeholders across business and technology
Drive data quality, governance and engineering best practices
Oversee planning, prioritisation and execution of data projects
Key Requirements
Proven leadership of multiple engineering teams
Strong Data Engineering / DataOps background
Experience in large, dataheavy environments
Python / PySpark for endto-end pipelines
Strong AWS experience (design & deployment)
Deep knowledge of data modelling, warehousing & lakehouse concepts
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Agile delivery experience
