The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) in the College of Engineering and Computing (CoEC) at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow as part of the inaugural cohort of the University’s new Bridge to Faculty program. We invite applications from outstanding scholars whose work contribute to, advances, or expands the boundaries of   Electrical Engineering and will have completed a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related field by the time of their appointment. Successful post-doctoral fellows may transition to tenure-track faculty positions after their second year. 

 The Electrical Engineering department has internationally recognized research programs in the areas of power, energy, and control systems, wireless communications, antennas, and radio frequency systems, semiconductor materials and devices, and decision and safety-critical systems. Candidates with expertise in the above areas, interdisciplinary areas, or other emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum communications, renewable energy etc. are strongly encouraged to apply.

Each award is 12 months and may be renewable for only one additional year upon demonstration of academic productivity. This position will begin Fall 2023.

Requirements

Must have PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related field by the time of their appointment from an accredited institution.
