This position is field-based and does include some travel to Dartmouth Health locations with regular travel to Lebanon, NH. No regular overnight travel is expected beyond training sessions.
Position Overview:
The Supervisor provides daily operational supervision of the Biomedical Electronics Technicians. This position is responsible for implementing staff training programs. Assists with the design, specification, procurement, installation, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment and is also responsible for developing maintenance procedures for medical equipment.
Responsibilities:
Ensures an adequate daily staffing level.
Responsible for periodic performance evaluations of all Technicians. Recommends employment, disciplinary actions, commendations, and terminations.
Works with staff to manage workloads and priorities including ensuring equipment maintenance programs are kept within established guidelines.
Responsible for implementing the departmental training program.
Ensures there is an adequate supply of repair parts and materials.
Ensures there are written maintenance procedures for all equipment included in the equipment inventory.
Works with leadership in making staffing and budgeting recommendations.
Performs equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in appropriate engineering or scientific field with 4 years of experience in Biomedical Engineering field, preferably in hospital setting or the equivalent in education and experience.
Must possess the social traits necessary to interact closely with staff and patients often under difficult and trying conditions.
