Activities

Together with your team you are responsible for the definition of the project specifications for the large projects in the Leuna refinery and ensure proper usage by our engineering partners. You are also in charge of the application, the governance process, the cost follow-up and the claim management for the engineering frame contracts. In this context you are challenging the engineering offers prior to the contract signature for each project, support the scope description and the definition of deliverables as well as the creation of workflows and procedures.

Furthermore, you monitor the design and implementation planning of the external service providers, organize technical reviews, clarify technical issues and confirm contractual performance. You support the preparation of the project dossiers for gate approval steps and review the project engineering strategies and execution plans by using KPIs.

You report to the Technical Director of the Leuna refinery.

Candidate Profile

You have a university degree in mechanical, civil or process engineering or comparable discipline. You have at least 15 years experience as a certified project manager (GPM, IPMA, ...) in the refining and/or petrochemical industry and have lead projects in every project phase. Experience in major projects is an advantage.

You are able to manage a team of different technical skill sets with a high level of integrity and trust and build and retain strong working relationships at all levels and between all parties. You have a high level of safety understanding, are result and solution driven and able to priorities tasks. You can communicate at all levels of the organization, internally as well as externally in German and English (French would be a plus).
