Job Summary
• Technical lead for the management of corporate managed end-user devices including installation, implementation, and deployment according to AmeriGas, Utilities, Energy Services, and Mountaineer Gas Company (UGI) standards.
• Designs and administers various client technology support systems including but not limited to: SCCM (AmeriGas & OneUGI environments), Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Windows Autopilot, Azure Virtual Desktops, GPOs (including International), VMWare, software packaging, image management, system patching, third-party patching, and mobile device support for Utilities and AmeriGas environments.
• Serves as an escalation point for all other IT teams in the environment and owns the post-incident review (Post-Mortem) process for Priority 1 incidents affecting end-user systems.
• Acts as the lead client technology resource on IT business application projects and within the IT Technology Infrastructure Group, including Unite, Zscaler, Windows 11 deployment, and Intune co-management initiatives.
• Lends expertise to other teams in troubleshooting and resolution of problems within the IT Technology Infrastructure Group.
• Manages team staffing levels for support and development for the enterprise.
• Builds solutions that involve scripting for special projects such as VMWare Workspace ONE, Intune remediation scripts, and automation solutions.

• Extensive background in managing the integration, implementation, and support of client/desktop and host/server technologies.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership skills, both written and oral.
• Technical expert with desktop computing hardware, virtual environments, Microsoft PowerShell, Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, printers, software, and communications products.
• Strong analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Acts as the lead technical contact for IT Infrastructure and Operations in the delivery of new desktop computing technologies and innovations (e.g., integration testing and preparation of software, operating system images and upgrades, software version upgrade projects, and adaptation of software to UGI requirements).
• Owns and facilitates the Priority 1 (P1) Post-Mortem process for end-user impacting incidents, including root cause analysis documentation, remediation tracking, and presenting findings to IT leadership.
• Manages the field infrastructure assimilation of acquisition projects for AmeriGas IT & UGI. Responsible for integration of hardware, network, and client computing systems into the UGI technology model.
• Partners with the Enterprise Network Manager, Telecommunications Manager, Database Administration Manager, Systems Managers, and Applications Development Managers in testing and coordinating services to be delivered to UGI computing devices (desktop, laptop, thin client, or mobile devices).
• Supports business justification, technical design, and continuous improvement including customer satisfaction of Desktop Services & IT Service Desk product/service delivery to UGI employees.
• Responsible for diagnosis and remediation of escalated technical issues, providing root cause analysis to management, as well as workaround and/or resolution to all IT groups.
• Identifies, evaluates, implements, and uses desktop management utility software such as SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Absolute, BeyondTrust, Patch My PC, and other emerging technologies to install, upgrade, and maintain end-user systems.
• Leads Intune/SCCM co-management strategy and migration efforts across all business units.
• Develops and maintains compliance dashboards and reporting using PowerBI or similar tools for patch compliance, device health, and security baselines.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation for custom systems and application deployment configurations. Updates documentation as necessary to reflect upgraded/revised systems and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• General understanding of Tier 1 through Tier 3 support methodology and workflow.
• Experience with the integration of desktop computing hardware, printers, software, and communications products, particularly those of Microsoft and Intel, as well as other third-party software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server based operations and the Microsoft family of Windows Server products and other third-party Windows Server add-on products.
• Knowledge of host/server and desktop/client based, Internet related technologies, including Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Strong experience with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Windows Autopilot, and modern endpoint management strategies.
• The ability to use software packaging utilities and/or scripting languages (PowerShell, PSADT) for the deployment of software, configuration changes, and upgrades to desktop and server computers.
• Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology options, configurations, and strategies for data service delivery such as TCP/IP.
• Exposure to Disaster Recovery Planning, change management, service level process design, and customer satisfaction surveys.
• Extensive experience with SCCM Current Branch (2309 or greater) and co-management with Microsoft Intune.
• Knowledge and operational experience in software security vulnerability assessment and software security patch management via SCCM and Patch My PC for third-party software patching.
• Extensive capability in desktop technology administration (Windows 10 & 11) and diagnostic and problem-solving expertise within these environments.
• Understanding of Microsoft desktop operating system management (Servicing) for Windows 10 & 11, including Windows Update for Business and feature update deployment strategies.
• Experience with security baseline management (CIS benchmarks, Microsoft Security Baselines) and compliance reporting.
Education and Experience Required
• College degree preferred in Computer Science and/or Business Administration.
• 10+ years of experience in the Information Technology field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience working successfully in a high customer contact role, with hands-on Windows/Intel PCs and Microsoft Windows servers in a LAN/WAN/VPN environment.
• Experienced in management of services delivery in a customer-focused desktop technology environment, encompassing PC technology acquisition, installation, maintenance, and retirement.
• Support and use of SCCM, Microsoft Intune, MDM solutions, and similar products.
Preferred Certifications:
• Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
• ITIL Foundation
