Qualifications
RS&H is currently seeking an experienced Traffic Engineering Associate to join our Charlotte team!
As part of the infrastructure team, you'll serve an integral role in the firm by aiding in highway engineering design, such as traffic signal design, signing and pavement markings, roadway lighting, and ITS for a variety of project types.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of plans and design on transportation infrastructure projects
- Assist in the design and development of traffic signal plans
- Determine locations for devices and develop details for ITS plans
- Prepare photometric calculations for roadway lighting
- Design of pavement markings and signage
Minimum Qualifications:
- Have a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program and three years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Be knowledgeable around applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
- Be proficient in production software and construction document production.
- Have a passion for engineering and a willingness to grow and learn.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills and have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EIT certification.
- NCDOT project experience: traffic signal design, signal communication design, or design projects.
- Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, and Synchro.
